Africa for Christ | A Remarkable Testimony in Nigeria

As part of the ongoing mass evangelism campaign in Nigeria, “Africa for Christ,” a moving testimony has emerged from the mission field—illustrating God’s transforming power even in the most challenging contexts.
Indeed, for two weeks, a district conducted an evangelistic campaign in the village of Rumuodogo 2, located in Rivers State. This locality is known as one of the areas marked by a high rate of kidnappings and various illicit activities, making missionary work particularly complex.

Despite these challenges, the results testify to the power of the Gospel. By the grace of God, eight people were baptized, along with one profession of faith, bringing the total number of souls won to Christ to nine.
Among these decisions, one testimony stands out. A man commonly known as Spako chose to give his life to Christ and was baptized alongside his wife during this evangelistic campaign held at Rumuodogo 2 Center, in the Port Harcourt West Conference of the Eastern Nigeria Union Conference.
In an interview conducted by Pastor Udochukwu Nwadike and the media team, he explained that he had been a member of the Olumba Olumba movement for 35 years before becoming the “Point One,” that is, the leader of a group within a radical secret society known as Degbam in the region. His conversion marks a profound turning point not only in his life but also in his household, as his wife also decided to follow Christ through baptism.
To ensure spiritual follow-up and strengthen these new decisions, an Annex Sabbath School was established and successfully inaugurated in the area. This initiative aims to support the new converts in their spiritual growth and to strengthen the presence of the Church in this community.
This testimony is living proof that, even in the most hostile environments, the light of the Gospel continues to shine and transform lives.
Glory be to God for the great work He is accomplishing.
