Visit of Adventist Church Leaders to the Victims of the March 28, 2025 Accident
Adventist Church leaders have visited the victims of the March 28, 2025, accident involving students and staff of the Ben Konadu Adventist Basic School in Konongo.
The victims, who were admitted to the Mampong Government Hospital, Yilo Krobo District Hospital, and Koforidua Government Hospital, were on an excursion to Akosombo when the unfortunate incident occurred.
Among the injured were the headteacher, pupils, and teachers. While most have been treated and discharged, ten individuals remain hospitalized, including a pupil who tragically had a hand amputated. Sadly, the accident claimed the lives of two individuals.
The visiting Church delegation included Pastor Chris Annan-Nunoo, Executive Secretary of the Southern Ghana Union Conference; Mrs. Lydia Abrafi Nsiah, General Manager of Adventist Schools; and Dr. Solace Asafo, Communications Director and Mr. Samuel Agyei Nyarko. Other leaders in attendance were Pastor Samuel B. Arloo, Pastor Osei Bonsu, and Pastor Bless Kupualor of the East Ghana Conference, as well as officers from the South Central Ghana Conference in Kumasi.

The Church is very grateful to the Eastern Regional Minister, Madam Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey, who chanced on the accident and ensured that the victims were admitted to various hospitals, provided a vehicle to transport some of the discharged victims to Konongo. We thank the regional director of education and the district director of education for providing the victims with food on Friday and Saturday.
