Côte d’Ivoire : Seventh-day Adventist Church, District II Abidjan.

The women of the Seventh-day Adventist Church of Cocody, Temple Philadelphia offer donations of more than 2 million Francs CFA to the sick of the Centre des Grands Brûlés of the CHU of Cocody in Abidjan.  

During his earthly ministry, the Lord Jesus Christ never ceased to heal the sick and bring comfort to the afflicted by fulfilling their countless aspirations.
It is this ineffable empathy of humanity Savior that inspired the women of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Temple Philadelphia, Abidjan-Cocody (Côte d’Ivoire South East Conference). Indeed, on Sabbath 5 May 2023, in a perfect symbiosis the women of District II converged towards the Centre des Grands Brûlés of Cocody University Teaching Hospital for a donation.

At the beginning of the ceremony, the Head of the said health structure, Dr. Kouamé, in accordance with the rules, welcomed his guests. He also expressed his gratitude for this charitable activity which will greatly relieve residents whose treatments require large amount of money.

“Treating a person with severe burns can cost between 300,000F CFA and 400,000F CFA a day (…) and when we receive support from people of goodwill, including religious people, we can but only thank them” he said.
After the stage of civilities, the Conductor of the ceremony, Mrs. Kably Sylvie, the WM (Women Ministry) Director of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Cocody, Temple Philadelphia presented the donations to the head of the center.

Indeed, worth more than 2 million Francs CFA, the donations were essentially composed of various medical and hygienic equipment for the physical care of the sick, but also of Christian literature for their spiritual edification.

In a brief meditation taken from the Gospel of Luke 10:25-37, the Pastor of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Cocody Temple Philadelphia, Dr. Samé Vincent Roger said that this charitable action was only the materialization of the duty of the Lord Jesus-Christ’s disciples. He also reaffirmed the commitment of his community to multiply such initiatives.
This donation ceremony organized by the W M, was also enhanced by the presence of the Sahel Union Mission Ministerial Association Secretary, Pastor, Dr. Paul Baka and his wife, Léontine Baka, the Côte d'Ivoire South East Conference WM Director.
Several members from other churches in Abidjan (Abobo, Bingerville, Cocody-Béthel and Faya) also took part in this important event.

It is with unspeakable joy that these disciples of the Lord left the Centre des Grands Brûlés, a structure specialized in the medical care for the victims of various burns, accomplishing thus Christ’s teachings about charity.
